Below are all the different terms explained:
Plain (Weave)
Plain weave carbon fiber is the most commonly used type for lightweight aerodynamic parts. Only three layers are typically necessary to produce non-structural pieces. Autoclave Production |
Twill (Weave)
Carbon Fiber is a high strength, high modulus cloth. It has a high stiffness ratio, and a high strength-to-weight ratio as well. The Twill weave is characterized by the "twill line" or diagonal rib. Each tow warp end floats over two or more picks (depending on the twill formation). Autoclave Production |
Glossy (Finish)
Carbon Fiber has a high strength and is the most commonly found carbon fiber finish. It complements all motorcycles very nicely and is widely used in automative shows because of its beauty and showmanship. Autoclave Production *Please note that this process will delay shipment up to 8-10 weeks if custom ordered! |
Matte (Finish)
Carbon Fiber has a high strength and is seen more in late model motorcycles. It has coatings (which make it less shiny). It is extremely beautiful and easy to take care of. Autoclave Production. All Matte custom ordered products (whether Plain Matte or Twill Matte) are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Matte products in stock at time of purchase are exempt from restocking fee. *Please note that this process will delay shipment up to 8-10 weeks if custom ordered! |
